2XU Performance Compression Socks

I had my first glimpse of the Compression Sock phenomenon at Ironman Wisconsin 2007 and have to admit the thought of wearing them myself was not very appealing.

Fast forward a few years and many training/racing days later...

Over the past 6 months I started using the Compression Tights, Calf Guards, and Long Sleeve Tops for recovery regularly and have noticed a decrease in my recovery times.

In preparation for IM Wisconsin 2009 I had a 4.5 hour bike on Saturday to be followed by a 2.5 hour run on Sunday.  Needless to say I was a bit sore after the Saturday bike and thought it would be a great time to try out my latest item:  Compression Performance Socks by 2XU.

Likes - They felt great.  My sore calves did not feel so sore during the run.  They were not hot as I suspected they would be and no slippage.

Dislikes - I felt a little self conscious about how "uncool" I looked when running in these out in public.

Summary - I will definitely be wearing  these again.

Very cool, Jon. I personally think they look cool. It is advanced technology. Half the people think runners are wacked anyway. Might as well have science and technology on your side in the fashion game.

Hi Jon. Nice article but I would have liked a more in depth review of them. Have you tried any others ? CEP? Zensah? Sugoi?
